14 Things You Didn’t Know About Pierce Brosnan
He was a pretty good James Bond.
My first memories of Pierce Brosnan are as the titular character in the TV series, Remington Steele. He was excellent in the series and it was easy to project him as a James Bond. While he didn’t project the physical strength that Sean Connery did, he was adequate in that department and more than adequate in all other aspects of the character.
Of course, Brosnan has starred in a number of other projects, including some westerns, so there is that. In addition, some features of his personal life have been reported on. He seemed like a pretty interesting guy, so upon doing some more reading about him, here are some things you didn’t know about Pierce Brosnan.
1: Brosnan was raised in large part by his maternal grandparents. His father abandoned the family when Pierce was a baby and his mother moved to London to work as a nurse.
In a Bond movie it was said the best agents were orphans. While Pierce wasn’t an orphan, he said he considered his childhood fairly solitary. Close enough to make a really good Bond.
