I vaguely remember the TV sitcom, My Three Sons. I remember liking it fairly well, though it wasn’t one of my favorites. Of course, Fred MacMurray was the center of the show. He was one of a number of single fathers present on the TV landscape in the 60s. The cast changed over a period of time, but it remained a solid show throughout its run.

One oddity about the show is that most of the actors on the show seemed to have a low profile after the show shut down. With that little bit of information, here are some things you didn’t know about My Three Sons.

1: The oldest son, Mike, played by Tim Considine, was written out of the show as the storyline had him marrying Meredith MacRae’s character.

Well, that was a pretty powerful incentive to leave the nest.

2: Initially, William Frawley played William Michael Francis “Bub” O’Casey, who was the boys’ maternal grandfather and caretaker for the boys.

Frawley eventually left the show due to poor health and was replaced by William Demerest. So, Demerest became the family DH, designated housekeeper.

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
