Ann-Margaret has been entertaining people for a long time. In addition to her acting, Ann is also a talented singer and dancer. Before being married to Roger Smith for 50 years, she had a relationship with Elvis Presley.

I haven’t seen a lot of her work, but did see her in the John Wayne western, The Train Robbers, and I hate to admit it, The Villain. She also had a memorable role in Grumpier Old Men. With that limited background, here are some things you didn’t know about Ann-Margaret.

1: Ann was born in in Valsjöbyn, Krokom Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden. She described the town as lumberjacks and farmers high up near the Arctic Circle.

I would thing farming near the Artic Circle would be a tough gig. Actually, pretty much everything would be a tough gig in that area.

2: Her mother was Mrs. Olson.

No not the coffee Mrs. Olson. Ann was born Ann-Margret Olsson.

3: Ann was 16 when she appeared on the “Ted Mack’s Original Amateur Hour.’
