Most of us of a certain age are familiar with Alfred Hitchcock’s work. He really is recognized as a master of suspense and one of the greatest movie directors in history. He also did some really some great work on TV. In addition to that, he was also a really strange guy. With that in mind, here are some things you might not have known about Alfre Hitchcock.

1: He was married. His wife’s name was Alma Reville.

She actually was a close collaborator with Hitchcock on his work. I assume when it came to harassing his female leads, Hitchcock was on his own.

2: He made a documentary about German concentration camps.

It was called, “Memory of the Camps.” It wasn’t released until the 1980s. It wasn’t released during World War II because it was thought it would be bad for British morale. Sort of like a Pauly Shore movie would be bad for the morale of anybody.

3: Hitchcock had many phobias, including eggs.

There’s a certain irony here, as Hitchcock was shaped something like an egg. BTW, Hitchcock’s least favorite movie? “The Egg and I.” Hitchcock thought it was a horror movie. Wait, being told that’s not right. Never mind.
