Not a lot is known about her beyond here Beverly Hillbilly days.

During the 1960s The Beverly Hillbillies was a monster hit for CBS. There are many reasons for the success of the show. One of them was Donna Douglas. Donna probably did a lot for sales of jeans back in the 60s and no doubt scenes where she was by the “cement pond” didn’t hurt ratings either.

But beyond her work in The Beverly Hillbillies, I don’t recall a lot of her other work, except for one memorable appearance on the Twighlight Zone. Like other members of the cast of The Bevely Hillbillies, Donna was closely identified with her role in the series. But, regardless, here are some things you probably didn’t know about Donna Douglas.

1: After her time on The Beverly Hillbillies, Donna went on to become a real estate agent, gospel singer, inspirational speaker and author.

And I thought Jethro was the one with all the education.

2: Donna was born in the community of Pride, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana September 26, 1932.

And no, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the pride we hear about today.

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
