12 Things You Didn’t Know About Bob Denver

I’ve written pieces on four of the seven stranded castaways on Gilligan’s Island. For whatever reason, I've waited until now to write about who may be considered the central character of the show, Gilligan, aka Bob Denver. After all, the island was named after him.

In addition to his work as Gilligan, he also did some noteworthy work as Maynard G. Krebs in The Many Loves of Doby Gillies. Beyond that, I can’t think of a lot of Bob Denver projects. So, let’s get into some things you didn’t know about Bob Denver.

1: It turns out that Bob did have other TV series. One was “The Good Guys.” It turns out that this series has been syndicated for a brief period of time in South America. Poor quality prints were used.

And I suspect the prints of that show weren’t the only things of poor quality associated with that series.

2: Bob wasn’t happy about the way the series was treated by CBS and critics.

He said this, “but sour critics said it should have been just called ‘Guys’. Well, maybe to be consistent, he should have just said, “critics” and…
