You may have heard that there’s has been a reboot of the animated series, “King of the Hill.” The reboot picks the series up the lives of our heroes after a 15-year break. I haven’t seen the series yet, but I plan to. Below is an overview of the original series.

Many of you may know the show takes place in Arlen, Texas. Some might characterize Hank as a redneck, but he is so much more than that. Sure, he might threaten to kick somebody’s butt, but he’s basically a good, family loving man and a good neighbor. Who has a few issues. But you could do a lot worse than have him as your neighbor.

Hank and his wife Peggy have one child, a son named Bobby. Bobby is a polar opposite of his father, but Hank loved him, nonetheless. Of course, Hank doesn’t always have an easy time expressing his emotions. There is one line from the series kind of encapsulates this for me. Hank, expressing his affection for Bobby says:

“I’d hug you if you weren’t my son.”
