Richard Gere has starred in a lot of high-profile movies. Many of them, such as Pretty Lady, involve him being a sexy leading man. That means I haven’t seen a lot of his work. He was excellent in First Knight, though I wasn’t thrilled with him playing around Sean Connery’s wife. That really takes a lot of moxie.

I’m sure there are other Richard Gere movies out there I would like, if I ever have time to check them out. In the meantime, here are some things you didn’t know about Richard Gere.

1: Gere first major role was on Broadway in the rock opera, “Soon.”

It closed after three performances. So, when the actors asked when is this play going to close, the answer was, “Soon.”

2: He was cast in the ‘Lords of Flatbush” but was replaced when he fought with co-star, Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone must have been prepping to play Rocky.

3: Gere has been noted has being one of the best actors to have never received an Oscar nomination.
