10 Things You Didn’t Know About “Have Gun Will Travel”

For many of us, the Golden Age of TV was in the late 50s and 60s. One of the reasons for that was the abundance of westerns aired at that time. And one of the best of those westerns was, “Have Gun Will Travel.” The main character was a man called “Paladin.” Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam? Sorry got carried away thinking about the theme song.

Paladin was unlike many other heroes in westerns of that time. He lived in a fancy hotel in San Francisco and enjoyed the high life. He also used business cards. In addition to drum up business, he also had a team of telemarketers. Hold on, being told that last part isn’t true.

I found the character of Paladin particularly interesting, and like a lot of Richard Boone’s work in general. A later TV series of Boone’s that I especially liked was Hec Ramsey. Hec Ramsey reminded me of an older, wearier and sort of down on his luck Paladine. Check out on YouTube if you get a chance.
