10 Remnants of Home Decor from the 70s

The decade of the 70s sems to take a lot of criticism. Some of it deserved, some of it, not so much. Take the area of decor. I actually like some of the furnishings from the 70s. Of course, some of that stuff was too much, even for my unsophisticated tastes. Take for example, shag carpet. I don’t mind the look, but the maintenance is terrible. With the shag carpet out of the way, here are some other things you might remember from the 70s.
1: Harvest gold and avocado green appliances.
Am I the only one who liked those colors? I guess I am. Nowadays, my wife is a fan of stainless-steel fridges, and I really have no choice in the matter.
2: Linoleum floors.
Ok, I didn’t like this one. It was durable and easy to clean. I don’t mind the easy to clean up part, but that durability is a two-edged sword. That stuff looked awful, but the fact it lasted so well made it hard to justify replacing it.
3: Bean bag chairs.
This was a really hard sale for adults. It’s hard to have a serious discussion when you’re trying to maintain your posture while sitting in a bean bag chair. And I suspect it’s worse for women. Trying to sit down in one or get up out of one…
