10 Odd Facts About McDonald’s
Despite stuff like this happening, I still eat there.
A 2021 news story from Wisconsin caught my attention. It seems that a car went through a Wisconsin McDonald’s with a cow in the back seat. What was so shocking was that some actual beef was seen at a McDonald’s. Now, with the obligatory joke about McDonald’s out of the way, I’ll go on to make less than flattering remarks about McDonald’s in list form. While continuing to eat there.
10: In 2009, a girl in Switzerland found a condom in her french fries.
McDonald’s defense was they wanted their customers to practice safe eating. Based on the caloric and sodium amounts found in their food, the argument was unconvincing.
9: The McRib is composed of a “restructured meat product”.
Yummy. Included in this concoction are tripe, heart, and scalded stomach. Ironically, that last product is also a side effect of eating a McRib. Really, shouldn’t the sandwich be called a McHeart or a McStomach?
8: In the US, people eat a billion pounds of beef at Mcdonald’s.
They say that represents 5.5 million head of cattle. I’m not sure if any part of the cattle other than the head, is used.
