Have you ever seen a press conference where the reporters dance around the obvious questions that need to be asked? Sometimes politicians, athletes or any one of a number of people are let off the hook far too easily.

But sometimes we can do the same thing in real life. With that in mind, here are a number of questions that beg for follow-up questions.

1: Where can I retire on $2,000 a month?

I saw this one on Quora. The follow-up question to this one should be, “Where can I get my hands on $2,000 a month?

2: Are you afraid immigrants will take jobs away from Americans?

I used to hear this a lot. Now here’s a follow-up question, “Why are restaurants reducing the hours they’re open because of a shortage of workers?”

3: Why did you fire the head coach?

This happens a lot in sports. Here’s the follow-up for the team’s GM, “Your last three head coach hires have been busts, why do you still have your job?

4: What’s new and improved about your product?

You probably don't know my name, but have likely seen my work. I've written for numerous syndicated cartoon strips and my gags have appeared in national pubs.
