10 Facts About the TV Show, “I Spy”
Robert Culp and Bill Cosby had great chemistry.
When it comes to TV shows, my memory goes away back. I have a vague memory of I Spy, but don’t remember a lot of details. One thing I do remember about the show was the most impressive thing about it was the interaction between the two stars, Robert Culp and Bill Cosby.
Of course, now Cosby is a pariah, but regardless, the series was still excellent. The details surrounding the series are fuzzy to me, so after some research, here are some facts about I Spy, the TV show.
1: The series was the first to portray a black actor in a leading role.
In the series, Robert Culp played a tennis player while Cosby played his trainer. The fact that the white guy was the athlete kind of dates the series.
2: Race was never an issue in the stories.
And by being a non-issue, it probably made more of a point.
3: The show was filmed in numerous exotic locations.
Each year four or five exotic locations were chosen and storylines were tailored to them. Oddly, no episodes were filmed in Oklahoma.
