A while back, I wrote about my favorite 15 Comedians. Bob was number five. I love his dry, dead pan delivery and the fact he doesn’t scream or cuss. His comedy relies on at least a modicum of intelligence. Newhart also works clean, which I also appreciate it.

Of course, included in Bob’s impressive resume may are a couple of great sitcoms, “The Bob Newhart Show,” and “Newhart.’ I’m a fan of both. Here is a look back at “The Bob Newhart Show.” See how much of this stuff you remember.

1: There are references in the show about Bob being in the Korean War, however they are somewhat conflicting.

Bob is referred to as being in the Army, as well as the Air Force. Maybe he was a super just hyper-patriotic.

2: Suzanne Pleshette’s voice changed over the years.

During the series it was a regular alto, but by the time she played “The Queen of Mean,” she was a baritone. That was the result of years of on stage screaming and smoking. Maybe Bob Hartley’s marriage wasn’t as idyllic as we thought.
