To me, Matthew Broderick’s defining role was Ferris Bueller. And honestly, in some ways I don’t find the role that sympathetic. After all, he did get his buddy in a boatload of trouble. Plus, the guy was literally too cool for school. I recognize the world loves a nonconformist, but Ferris pushed the envelope.

Beyond that, I remember him in War Games. Of course, he gone on to do heavier stuff and is especially noted for his work on Broadway. He has won two Tony Awards. Now, onward to some things you didn’t know about Matthew Broderick.

1: Broderick won positive reviews for his work in the movie, “Glory.” He played Civil War officer, Robert Gould Shaw, whom he resembled.

Obviously, not all guys are played by actors that look like them or there would be more average looking actors.

2: In 1987, while in Ireland, Broderick was involved in car crash that killed two other drivers when he crossed the center line.

Originally, Broderick was charged with causing death by dangerous driving but the charge was later reduced to careless driving, and he was…
