Carly Simon is one of my top five female singers. She may be in my top ten musical performers period. Beyond her music, I know she was married to James Taylor. I also know that she comes from an affluent family.

I don’t have a lot to say about Carly before doing some more research, but one thing I did take note of. In one of her music videos, she is shown playing softball with her family. Carly looked to be in her early teens. What stuck out to me was Carly looked like a pretty good softball player. She could add that to her resume. Now, on to some facts about Carly Simon.

1: Carly has had a myriad of hits including “Nobody Does it Better,” the theme for “The Spy Who Loved Me.”

It’s considered by many to be the best of the James Bond theme songs. I’m one of those many.

2: Carly’s father was Richard L. Simon co-founder of Simon & Schuster. He was also a classical pianist.

I think I can see why Carly didn’t get into country western music.

3: Carly had a severe stuttering problem when she was eight. She found that writing music and singing
